Changes

Change can mean many different things, but one thing is certain: change is inevitable. Change always comes. It can be hard, uncertain, and even disastrous. And yet, nothing new happens without change.

I find myself reflecting on change as Contemplate Lincoln is in the midst of a season of change. Much of what is changing is exciting: a new website, new gathering opportunities, and improvements to how we hold some of our current gatherings. But change also means pausing some things and letting other things go. And that can be hard.

Still, new things are beginning to spring forth this fall.

There is something fitting about this season. As the leaves begin to change, die back, and fall, and as the temperature drops, we are reminded that letting go is part of the natural rhythm of life. What looks like an ending can also make space for something new to emerge.

Perhaps that is true for us as well. We don't always know what is coming next, but we can trust that God is at work even in the changing seasons—and make room for what is waiting to be born.

Stay tuned for some big announcements and happenings at Contemplate Lincoln.

Where: Pioneers Park Nature Center Auditorium

& Online

We will end our time together in contemplative silent prayer. In-person guests are welcome to walk the trails of Pioneers Park after our meeting. Both in-person and online guests will leave with suggested practices/activities for time in nature following the event.

In the Celtic Christian Tradition Halloween, also known as All Hallows Eve, celebrates summer’s end, the transition to shorter days, and the harvest. It is also a time of honoring and remembering our ancestors and saints who came before us. A time in the Celtic tradition when the veil between this world and the spirit world is very thin. Join us for this liturgy and meditation, celebrating and honoring this transition.

This Sunday follows All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day, and All Souls Day, observed in churches and communities across the world.

Join us as we intentionally invoke the themes of this rich week.
